Upon visiting the Tuba, you may see a little dodo running around. That is Master Blackstone's little friend, Patches. Jameson discovered Patches when he was tending dodos at the Blackstone Family Farm. There was a new brood of dodos running around in a small bin. He noticed one dodo with googly eyes. Whenever it would try to walk, it would take a few steps then fall down flat. Jameson felt bad for the little one and made it his mission to take care of him. Patches is now doing much better than he was in his baby days. He may never learn how to fly but he is now and forever will be the mascot of The Mouldy Tuba.

Mouldy Tuba Seasonal Drink Special: Sparkling Watermelon Punch

Mo ordered an absolute pile of watermelons. And it’s a recurring order. It is interesting though, when you cut them in half, it looks kinda like a bowl. Well, a bowl is like a cup in many ways, so Yuni decided to drinkify it. She took the watermelon guts, blended it up with some mint, and poured it back into the now empty and lonely shell, while adding a little vodka, simple syrup, lime juice, and a dash of sparkling wine. A few ice cubes later and next thing we knew our bar-bunn was sitting on the beach a watermelon shell in her hand (and four empties on the sand next to her).

Watermelon Old Fashioned

Mo made me do this. Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining. Well, I was complaining. But not about this! Yuni (the “I” here) ran out of simple syrup, and rather just take 30 seconds and make more she sat and grumped. So our ever-helpful cook (and bard, and many other things…) just shook his head and made some himself. Only being a smartass he made it with watermelon water (smoosh a watermelon and strain out the solid bits, fyi) and didn’t tell bar-bunn. Mel-jito

With so much large fruit floating around, Yunica started dabbling. She made a mojito (you know, lime juice, mint, sugar, rum, bubbles) and took some of that smooshed up watermelon from the punch she tried the day before and added it in! But with some agave nectar instead of her usual simple syrup, to make it fancy and confuse boss-man Blackstone into paying her more. The ruse didn’t work. But after a couple of these, bar-bunn didn’t care.
